1 How does a QR order reach a kitchen?
With WaiterPilot, the guest taps Confirm and the order appears on the staff board as Awaiting staff within seconds. Staff confirm it and it moves to In kitchen, where the kitchen screen shows dishes, choices and notes without prices. Nothing prints: WaiterPilot has no printer connection. In our 15 Oct 2026 test, 4 orders took 0.8 to 2.7 seconds.

2 Do restaurant staff approve AI waiter orders?
Yes, the first one at each table. In WaiterPilot, a table's first order waits as Awaiting staff until someone taps Confirm or Reject. After that, new orders from the table go straight to the kitchen until staff close the table. Waiting orders and calls change colour at 1, 5 and 10 minutes, so the longest waits stand out.
-
3 How does the waiter know which table ordered?
Each table has its own QR code. When a guest scans it, an essential cookie keeps their phone connected to that table, so WaiterPilot shows orders, waiter calls and check requests with the table's name. Owners add tables by name and print each table's QR card from the admin. If guests change seats, staff can move the party.

4 What happens when a dish sells out during an order?
An owner or manager marks the dish sold out from their phone, and WaiterPilot stops offering it right away. If it was already sent to the kitchen, staff mark that line Out of stock: it comes off the guest's bill and the guest sees a note. A server should still visit the table and offer an alternative.
-
5 What if a guest changes their order?
Before Confirm, the guest can change quantities in the WaiterPilot cart; nothing reaches staff until they tap Confirm. After that, they can cancel the order while it is still awaiting staff. Once it is in the kitchen, the guest calls a waiter from their phone and staff handle the change. Staff can also add a dish for the table.

6 How do staff handle duplicate orders?
Staff spot them on the board. In WaiterPilot, a table's first order waits for staff to Confirm or Reject, the moment to catch a double order. Later orders go straight to the kitchen, so if two look alike, a server asks. Guests can cancel while an order awaits staff, and the live bill lists every order.

8 Does the kitchen need a printer to use WaiterPilot?
No. WaiterPilot doesn't connect to kitchen printers at all. The kitchen works from a kitchen screen on a phone or tablet you already have, showing dishes, quantities, choices and notes without prices. If your kitchen relies on printed tickets, plan that change before you start, or choose a tool that prints to your printers.
