Does QR table ordering work in a bar or lounge?
Yes, where guests sit at tables and staff bring the drinks. With WaiterPilot, a guest scans the table's QR code, asks about the drinks list and orders by chat. After staff confirm the table's first order, the next round goes straight to the screen your bar staff watch. Guests call a waiter, ask for shisha coals or ask for the check from their phone. It takes no payment, has no POS link and checks no ID: your staff stay responsible for that.

What slows table service in a bar or lounge?
Rounds. Every new drink, refill and coal change is another trip, and the tables furthest from the bar wait longest.
- Waiting to catch someone's eye. In a dim, loud room, a table ready for another round can wait a long time before anyone sees it.
- Small requests, all night. Another of the same, more ice, fresh coals: each one is a trip for a server who is already carrying a tray.
- Questions about the list. What's in a cocktail, which drinks have no alcohol, what comes with a platter. Each answer is a conversation at the table.
- A long tab and a group that splits it. At the end of the night, someone has to work out who had what.
- Things run out. The last bottle of a wine goes, and guests keep asking for it.
How does WaiterPilot work in a bar or lounge?
Guests order and ask from the table; your staff keep control of what gets poured and served.
| At the table | What WaiterPilot does | The limit |
|---|---|---|
| Ordering | The table's QR code opens your menu in the phone's browser; the guest asks and orders by chat, with no app and no sign-up | Each QR code belongs to a table; there's no pickup or order-at-the-bar flow |
| Questions about drinks | Answers come from your menu: what's in a drink, which ones have no alcohol, what comes with a platter. When the menu doesn't say, it tells the guest to ask staff | It knows only what your menu says, so write the ingredients into it |
| The next round | The first order at a table waits for a staff confirm; later orders from that table go straight to the kitchen screen (in a bar, the one your bartenders watch) until staff close the table | Staff still see every ticket on the main board, and serve every drink |
| Choices | Required choices, such as a size or a mixer, must be picked before the order can be confirmed | You set which choices are required |
| Shisha | An optional call for shisha coals, with its own staff screen | Turned on per restaurant |
| Valet | An optional valet call, with its own staff screen | Turned on per restaurant |
| Calling staff | Guests call a waiter or ask for the check from their phone; it appears on the floor screen within seconds, with cash or card | Someone has to watch the floor screen. A waiter call says the table wants a waiter, not why |
| The bill | A live bill on every phone at the table, with your tax and any service charge you set, split evenly or as each person's own share | No payment and no card tabs in WaiterPilot; guests pay at your till or terminal |
| Sold out | The owner or manager marks a drink sold out from their phone, and the chat stops offering it right away | Needs the owner or manager PIN, not the staff one |
What does it look like in our own demo restaurant?
Separate screens for separate jobs: drinks and food on one, waiter calls on another, coals on a third.
On 15 October 2026, the staff board at Broadnet Cafe, BroadNet.AI's own demo restaurant, had five tabs: All staff, Kitchen, Floor service, Charcoal and Valet. A coals request goes to its own screen, so whoever tends the coals doesn't have to watch the drinks orders, and a waiter call shows on Floor service with the table, "Wants a waiter", the minutes waiting and an Ack button.
A lounge can run the same way: the kitchen screen at the bar, the floor screen with the servers, and the charcoal screen with the person who prepares the shisha.
How should a bar or lounge set it up?
Put each screen where the work happens, and decide who confirms new tables.
- Put the kitchen screen at the bar. Bartenders read orders with choices and notes, without prices, on a phone or tablet you already have.
- Name who confirms first orders. Usually a floor manager or the server on that section: a glance and a tap on the main board, and a moment to check age where the law requires it.
- Give the coals their own screen. If you serve shisha, turn on the coals call and put its screen with whoever tends the coals.
- Write the drinks list properly. Ingredients, sizes and which drinks have no alcohol. The chat answers only from what your menu says.
- Mark sold-out drinks as soon as they go. The chat stops offering them right away.
- Agree how tabs reach your till. WaiterPilot has no POS connection, so decide who rings up table orders, and when. See works with your POS.
- Leave the bar counter to the bartender. Guests sitting at the bar can order face to face. The QR codes do the most for tables and lounge seating away from the bar.
Who should choose something else?
Bars where most guests stand, pay for each drink as they order, or run card tabs inside the POS.
- Standing crowds and pay-per-drink bars. If guests order at the bar and pay on the spot, there's no table to order from. Counter service and a POS fit better.
- Card tabs. WaiterPilot takes no payment and can't hold a card. If you run tabs on cards, keep them in your POS, or use a tool that takes payment at the table (compare the options).
- Every drink must print at the bar or land in your POS. WaiterPilot has no POS or printer connection. A POS-native ordering tool saves the re-keying.
- A small bar with a fast bartender. If every table is a few steps from the bar and guests rarely ask questions, a server walking over may be all you need.
Questions from bars and lounges
Can guests order another round without waiting for a server?
Yes. Once staff have confirmed a table's first order, later orders from that table go straight to the kitchen screen, which in a bar is the one your bartenders watch.
Does WaiterPilot check guests' age?
No. It doesn't ask for age or ID. Where the law requires age checks, your staff stay responsible for them: a person confirms each table's first order, and staff serve every drink.
Does it work for a shisha lounge?
Yes. Turn on the optional call for shisha coals; it has its own staff screen, next to waiter calls and check requests.
Can a group split the bill?
Yes. The bill is live on every phone at the table, with your tax and any service charge you set. Guests split it evenly or see just their own share, then pay your staff.
Can guests run a card tab in WaiterPilot?
No. WaiterPilot takes no payment and holds no cards. Tabs stay in your POS or with your staff.
What does it cost a bar?
The same as any location: 30 days free, then $200 per location per month or $2,000 per year, with free setup, 0% commission and no contract. See pricing.
